Meet the women of MMA | Fighting Femme Fatales

Somewhere between blood-stained MMA shorts and sweaty training gear is the "art" behind mixed martial arts.

For most folks, gaping gashes and splintering bones aren't the defining points of beauty. But if you look hard enough - even in MMA - you'll find a reason to stop and smell the roses.

Except in this case, these roses are Venus Fly Traps.

Some women break hearts. Women like Gina Carano (start of the upcoming movie "Haywire") or Kyra Gracie will break your freakin' arm. These aren't the girls mommy warned you about - they're the ones she'd never dare speak of out of pure, unwavering fear.

Female MMA competition is usually more prominent in Japan, but as the MMA circuit continues to explode stateside, more and more girls are trading their pom poms for padded gloves.

So here's to the women of MMA - may you fight like a girl and bleed like a Spartan.

  1. Well i love the sport and all and i watch every event but u should see a pattern of title fights being more lack luster than the under cards. i think since the under cards have more variation in talent and skill level that there are more mismatches happening so there are better finishes than the top tier fighters where all of their skill levels are very close making the fights more of a chess match and a exciting fight. Basically the top tier fighters, with all their experience, make a lot less mistakes which causes them to not be “exciting” as the bottom tier fighters aren’t as experienced which leads to a higher chance of mistakes so that one of the fighters can capitalize one each mistake leading to more visually exciting fights.

  2. I haven't watched a lot of female MMA fights but the Rousey/Tate fight was pretty good. On the other hand to do like to watch videos of sexy girls beating up men.
