UFC 137 - Penn vs. Diaz predictions

The Georges St. Pierre thrashing of Nick Diaz has been postponed due to injury.

Instead, we'll see B.J. Penn, 32 years young, crack open his best attempt at whoop-ass this Saturday night against Diaz, four years his junior and fighting out of California. It's not that we're unexcited, but GSP's withdrawal after a knee injury does have us mustering little more than a yawn for the new main event.

Nevertheless, we're sure to be in for a fight. Diaz (25-7) has youth and a 10-fight win streak on his side. Penn (16-7) has, well, confidence to say the least.

Expect this fight to favor Diaz, if not for momentum going into the fight. We're not counting out B.J. Penn, but Diaz has some making up to do after a few recent PR foibles. We predict a second-round flash KO from Diaz.

Also of note for UFC 137, Mirko Cro Cop is back to face Roy Nelson. We're hopelessly predicting Filipovic to resurrect PRIDE form and lay "Big Country" a highlight headkick. Then again, we've been hoping for the old Cro Cop to return since he first joined the UFC. Realistic prediction: Nelson by TKO, late second round.

Training for military | How fit must you be to serve the armed forces?

For anyone curious about training for the military must know a few things up front - it's not going to be easy and you'd best be prepared for anything.

Get ready for a whole lotta this.
With that said, fitness is paramount to serving your country and serving it well. To give you an idea, one Navy SEAL recommends the following:

"The bottom line is you cannot make a bad decision to serve your country -- just show up with an above average fitness level. Be able to run 6:00-7:00 miles for several miles, be able to do 100 push-ups and sit-ups with ease, and do15-20 pull-ups."

Learn more about his suggestions for military fitness by reading this article. It's a good overview of what to expect from enlisting. Make sure your training gear surpasses expectations by checking out XT46.
